The basics

What this is and how the pieces fit together.

What is Kick For Good?

A fundraising home for youth clubs. The club runs a campaign with a goal and a prize, every player gets their own page and QR code, and family and friends give online in about a minute. A live leaderboard keeps it fun, and receipts go out automatically.

Who does what?

The club sets up campaigns and approves players. Families add their player and share their page. Supporters (grandparents, neighbors, local businesses) give. Kick For Good runs the platform, approves new clubs and keeps everything safe.

What does a campaign look like from start to finish?

The club launches it, families join and share, supporters give, and the leaderboard moves in real time. On the end date, giving stops. The club then announces results: the top fundraiser is crowned with a full-screen celebration, the top 3 earn certificates for their trophy case, and the page is saved as the final scoreboard.

Does anyone need to download an app?

No. Everything works in a phone or computer browser. Supporters don't even need an account.

Approval, your player's page, sharing, certificates and scholarships, in about 90 seconds.

How do I get started?

Create an account (about two minutes), then add your player. If your club sent you an invite link, use that, since it connects you to the right club automatically. Otherwise you can pick your club from the list.

Why do I have to wait for the club to approve my player?

So only real team members can raise money under the club's name. If you joined with a personal invite from the club, you're approved right away. If you joined with the club's public link, a club admin approves you, and we email you the moment they do.

What shows on my player's public page?

Their name, the club and their fundraising total. Their photo, bio, age group and school only show if you turn them on. Everything is off by default. Birthdays are never public; with age group on, the page shows something like "U12 Girls" instead. You can change these anytime from your dashboard.

How do I get my player into a campaign?

Once your player is approved, they're added to the club's campaigns and we email you their page link and QR code. If the club doesn't have a live campaign yet, you'll get the link as soon as one launches.

What's the best way to share?

Go to your dashboard and tap Invite supporters. Paste in names with an email or cell number. We email an invitation from you, and tapping Text on your phone opens a message that's already written. You can also print a flyer or a yard sign with your player's QR code. Families who invite 10 or more people usually raise the most.

Will my friends get spammed?

No. Each person gets your invitation plus at most two friendly reminders, a few days apart (once a day in the last two days of a campaign). Reminders stop the moment they give, and anyone can unsubscribe with one click. Replies go straight to your email, not to us.

Will I know when someone gives?

Yes. You get an email every time someone gives to your player, with their new total. It's the perfect moment for a quick thank-you text from your player.

Can my player be on more than one club?

Each player profile belongs to one club. If your child plays for two clubs, add them once for each club.

What is the trophy case?

When your player finishes in the top 3 of a campaign, their certificate goes in the trophy case on their page: gold for the Champion, silver for Runner-up and bronze for Third place, each showing how much they raised for that campaign. Family and friends can see every award they've earned. Tap one to print it.

Where can I find fundraising tips?

Our blog has free guides: fundraising ideas, ready-to-send text and email templates, how parents can help, and how scholarships work. A good place to start is how parents can help a team fundraiser.

What is a Kick For Good Scholarship Challenge?

Sometimes Kick For Good runs its own challenge on top of your club's scholarship: raise a set amount between two dates to qualify, and the top qualifying fundraisers win a scholarship paid by Kick For Good. When one is running you will see it on your dashboard with your player's progress. Awards are paid to your club or straight to the program they are for, like fees, camps or gear.

How do scholarships work?

Your club sets a scholarship milestone. Once your player has raised that much for the club across all campaigns, we email you (and send a notification) with a link to apply. The club reviews every application for things like fees, travel, gear or camps, and emails you its decision. You can see your progress on your dashboard.

For clubs

Applying, getting paid, running campaigns and announcing champions.

The club tour

Approval, setup, campaigns, payouts and the fun stuff, in 90 seconds.

How does a club join?

Apply from the For clubs page. Kick For Good reviews every club, usually within two business days, and emails you when your portal unlocks. Your rate is set at approval and is always visible in your portal under Your terms.

Do we need a tax ID?

Only if you're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Then we ask for your legal name and EIN so your donors get proper tax receipts. Clubs that aren't charities (an LLC, for example) don't need one; their donors get a regular receipt instead.

How does the money get to us?

Through Stripe, the same payment company used by millions of businesses. You connect your club's bank once from the setup checklist. Gifts go into your club's own Stripe account and pay out to your bank, usually in about two business days. Kick For Good never holds your money.

Why can't we launch a campaign yet?

Campaigns can't go live until your bank is connected through Stripe. That way no gift is ever taken without a place for it to land. Follow the setup checklist on your portal's Overview tab.

Can more than one person manage the club?

Yes. Add co-admins from your portal. They can do everything you can, so only add people you trust.

Can we take cash or checks?

No. {{ platform_name }} is online only: every gift is made by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay on a player or campaign page. That keeps every dollar verified, receipted automatically and counted fairly on the leaderboard. If a supporter wants to give cash, share the player's link or QR code instead.

How do sponsor matches work?

A local business promises to match gifts, for example dollar for dollar up to $1,000. Add it on the Campaigns tab. A banner shows on your campaign so supporters know their gift goes twice as far, and the match counts toward your team goal. The sponsor pays your club directly, so collect their check like you normally would. Only gifts made after you add the match count toward it.

How is the champion decided?

By the rule you pick when you create the campaign: most money raised, or most gifts. The prize is shown on the campaign, but any private prize details (a code, pickup instructions) are only emailed to the champion's family when you announce results. Second and third place get their certificates by email too.

What happens when a campaign ends?

On the end date, giving stops automatically. When you're ready, click Announce results. That freezes the final scoreboard, plays the champion celebration, and sends the emails you choose. Made a mistake? You can withdraw results and announce again.

Can we stay off the public leaderboards?

Yes. Uncheck "Show on the public leaderboards" under Receipts, Giving options.

Who gets a certificate?

The top 3 finishers when you crown a champion: Campaign Champion, Runner-up and Third place. Their families get it by email when you announce results, and it shows in the player's trophy case. Everyone else gets their final finish and a thank-you. Certificates are color-coded (gold, silver and bronze) and show the amount the player raised for that campaign.

What do we need to apply?

Your name, a valid email and a mobile phone number (both required), your club's name, city and state, and your organization type. Nonprofits, booster clubs, LLCs and corporations also enter their legal name and EIN; schools can add one if they have it; private clubs and sole owners don't need one. By submitting, you agree to receive emails from us, including news and fundraising tips (unsubscribe anytime), and calls or texts about your application and account. Marketing text messages are a separate, optional checkbox.

Where can we learn how to run a great campaign?

Read our free guides on the blog, especially how to run an online team fundraiser, how to get a sponsor match and when to launch.

How does the scholarship milestone work?

Set the amount under Club profile, Scholarship milestone. When a player's total for your club passes it, we automatically invite their family to apply and email you. Applications show up on your Scholarships tab, where you approve, decline and track payouts. Set it to 0 to turn it off.

For supporters

Giving, receipts and monthly gifts.

Do I need an account to give?

No. Open the link or scan the QR code, pick an amount, and pay. That's it.

How can I pay?

Any major card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, through Stripe's secure checkout. We never see or store your card number.

What is "cover the fees"?

An optional checkbox that adds a few dollars to your gift so the club keeps 100% of what you meant to give. It covers card processing and running the platform. It's checked by default, and you can uncheck it anytime before you pay.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

If the club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, yes, and your receipt says so. If it isn't, you still get a receipt for your records, and it clearly says the gift isn't deductible. Check with your tax advisor if you're unsure.

Can I give every month?

Yes. Choose Monthly on the give box. You'll get a receipt every month, and every receipt has a link to cancel anytime, no questions asked. A monthly gift needs your email so we can send those receipts.

I made a mistake. Can I get a refund?

Contact the club. Their email is on your receipt. If the club approves a refund, it goes back to your card through Stripe.

How do I stop invitation emails?

Click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any invitation. You won't get invitations or reminders from anyone on Kick For Good again.

Money and fees

What it costs, where the money goes, and what's counted.

How much does it cost?

Nothing to sign up and no monthly fee. Online gifts carry a small platform fee that already includes card processing, so there's never a second charge. When a donor covers the fees, the club gets the full gift. Every gift is online, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Each club sees its exact rate in its portal.

Why do totals sometimes take a moment to update?

Totals only count payments Stripe has confirmed, so nobody sees money that didn't actually come through. That usually takes a few seconds.

Does the "cover the fees" amount count toward the total?

Yes. It's part of the donor's gift, so it counts toward the player and team totals and appears on the receipt.

Do sponsor matches count toward a player's total?

No. A match counts toward the team goal only, so the player race stays fair.

What if a fee changes?

The club is emailed right away, and the new rate only applies to gifts made after the change.

Privacy and safety

Who can see what, and how kids are protected.

Who can see what?

The public (anyone with the link, including teammates and people outside the club) sees a player's first name or nickname, club, total and trophy case, plus a photo, bio, age group and school only if the parent allows it. Player pages are reached from the club page, the campaign leaderboard or a shared link, and are hidden from Google and other search engines. Families see their own players and their invite list. The club sees its roster, player details and its donations. Kick For Good can see everything to keep the platform safe and help when something goes wrong.

How are kids protected?

Public details are off by default, parents control them, every player is approved by their club, and no one can message a player through the site. Supporter invitations come from the parent, not the child.

Do you sell our information?

Never. Contact lists are only used to send the invitations you ask us to send.

Good to know

The rules and limits, so nothing is a surprise.

Giving stops when a campaign ends or is paused

Player pages stay up, but the give box goes away until the campaign is resumed. Once results are announced, the page becomes a permanent scoreboard.

Text messages come from your phone, not from us

We write the message and open it on your phone. You press send, so it comes from your number.

Players need club approval before their page goes live

This keeps fundraising honest. Personal invites from the club skip this step.

Clubs need a connected bank before launching

No campaign can take gifts until the club's Stripe account is set up.

Gift amounts can't be edited after payment

If something is wrong, the club can have it refunded and the donor can give again.

Sponsor matches don't move money

They show on the page and count toward the team goal. The sponsor pays the club directly.

Club leaderboards count the last 12 months

So clubs that are new to Kick For Good can climb fast.

Monthly gifts need an email address

So the donor gets every receipt and can always cancel.
