Kick For Good ("we," "us") runs a fundraising platform for youth sports clubs at kickforgood.com and in our apps. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain English on purpose.

The short version

  • Only adults create accounts. A parent or guardian decides what, if anything, about their child is public.
  • We never sell personal information, and we never send children's names or donor names to advertising or analytics companies.
  • Card numbers go straight to Stripe. They never touch our servers.
  • Donation records are kept for tax purposes. Most other information can be deleted when you ask.

Information we collect

From club administrators

Your name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash), optional phone number, and your club's details: name, logo, address, organization type, legal name, EIN and, if you upload one, your IRS EIN letter. Stripe collects the bank and identity details needed to pay your club. We don't see or store those.

From parents and guardians

Your name, email, password hash and optional phone number. For each player you add: a display name (we suggest a first name or nickname), and if you choose to provide them, a date of birth, gender, school, photo and short bio. You also choose which of these show publicly. Photos have location data removed when uploaded.

From supporters (donors)

Your name (or "Anonymous" if you prefer), email, gift amount, date, and whether you covered fees or gave monthly. Stripe processes your payment and shares only the result with us, never your full card number. If a family invites you, we store the name, email or phone number they entered so we can send that invitation and a limited number of reminders.

Automatically

Basic technical data such as pages visited, device and browser type, and how a visitor arrived (for example, from a campaign link). We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in. If you turn on notifications, we store your device's push subscription.

When you contact us

Messages you send to our help assistant or support inbox, so we can answer you and improve help content.

Information about children

Children do not create accounts and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 18. Everything about a player is entered and controlled by their parent or guardian, and each player must be approved by their club. Public player pages show a display name, club, fundraising total and any top-3 certificates. Photo, bio, age group and school appear only if the parent turns them on, and player pages are hidden from search engines. No one can message a player through Kick For Good. A parent can edit or remove their child's information at any time from their dashboard, or ask us to delete it.

How we use information

  • To run campaigns, player pages and leaderboards, process gifts, and send receipts, year-end statements and campaign paperwork.
  • To send messages you asked for or that the service needs: receipts, gift alerts, approvals, scholarship updates, invitations and reminders.
  • To send marketing emails or texts only if you opted in. You can opt out at any time.
  • To verify clubs, including checking an EIN against public IRS records.
  • To keep the platform safe, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations and improve the product.

Who we share it with

We share information only as needed to run the service, with companies that process it on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments:

  • Stripe for payments, payouts and fraud prevention.
  • Microsoft to send email.
  • Twilio to send text messages, if you opted in to texts.
  • Render for hosting and our database in the United States.
  • Google Analytics to understand site use. We send campaign and page information only, never donor names, emails or children's names. A club may add its own Google Analytics to its pages.
  • Anthropic to power the in-portal help assistant. Messages you type to the assistant are processed to generate answers.

Your club sees its own roster, player details and donations. Families see their own players and the supporters they invited. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

Your choices

  • Marketing: use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to any text, or change your preferences in your account.
  • Invitations: anyone can stop invitation emails with the unsubscribe link in them.
  • Public details: parents control what shows on their player's page.
  • Access, correction and deletion: email support@kickforgood.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

How long we keep information

Donation records and receipts are kept for at least seven years because clubs and donors rely on them for taxes. Account and player information is kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymized within 90 days after you ask us to delete it, unless we need to keep it to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.

Security

We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls for staff and club administrators, and payment processing that keeps card data off our systems. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Changes

If we make a material change, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date and, when appropriate, let you know by email.
